Hot on his heels was American Dylan Crane, just 12 seconds behind, with consistent stage wins. The 2025 Rally champion, Sam Blenkinsop, started strong, finishing third and charging late with the fastest runs on two stages.
A Change of Scenery
Day 2 offered a contrasting experience, moving riders to the hills above Nelson. The terrain shifted from tight, technical trails to flowing singletrack with breathtaking coastal views.
Sam Blenkinsop, the former Rally champion, shone on this day, taking the Elite Men's win with a combined time of 30:47. He demonstrated his versatility and confidence on the fast terrain, claiming stage wins and maintaining momentum.
